Job Summary
The Analyst Software Development – Telecom is responsible for supporting the Product Management team and Product Managers in visibility, tracking and continuous improvement of telecom solutions and related capabilities.
In addition, this role will support the evolution of Telecom capabilities through data, analytics, and emerging AI practices. This includes contributing to telecom network modelling, the evolution of Telecom Capacity & Performance capabilities complementing our Telecom observability, and lifecycle mapping of telecom assets to improve visibility and planning.
Introducing analytics and AI into the telecom domain will gradually enhance CN's ability to better understand network behaviour, support more informed capacity planning, and improve performance tracking over time.
Major Responsibilities
Contribute to the development and implementation of software-enabled telecom solutions, including data pipelines, models, and reporting capabilities
Perform telecom network modelling activities to improve understanding of network behaviour, dependencies, and performance drivers
Support the evolution of Telecom Capacity & Performance (Cap & Perf) capabilities, including data structures, analytics, and reporting outputs
Develop and maintain telecom lifecycle mapping (e.g., asset lifecycle, obsolescence, refresh planning) to support long-term sustainability and risk management
Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to evaluate existing solutions and identify opportunities for modernization and automation
Contribute to the introduction of analytics and AI-driven approaches, including data analysis, modelling, and performance insights
Engage with stakeholders to understand telecom solution needs and requirements
Drive continuous improvement through automation, data engineering practices, and use of emerging technologies (including GenAI/LLM where relevant)
Assist in the migration, structuring, and governance of telecom data and artifacts into centralized repositories
Requirements
Ability to analyse data, perform problem-solving, and translate findings into actionable insights
Strong interest in software development, data analytics, or telecom systems
Experience or exposure to data modelling, analytics tools, or AI/ML concepts (preferred)
Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and collaboration tools
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills
Strong communication skills to bridge business, product, and technical requirements
Curious, proactive learner with interest in evolving telecom technologies and digital capabilities
Ability to work independently in a dynamic and evolving environment
Education
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
