What You'll Do:This position reports to the Manager, Retail Financial Accounting.
- Complete day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations in multiple currencies
- Understand and address complex accounting concepts
- Prepare external reporting schedules and variance analysis commentary
- Completion of information requests from external, internal auditors and corporate tax
- Provide financial and business analysis to support key strategic objectives
- Promote and maintain an effective internal control environment in compliance with Nutrien's SOX requirements
- Collaborate with others to identify process improvement opportunities and automations
- Ownership of Joint Venture accounting process
- Play a key role in the partnership required for SAP ERP conversion activities from an accounting perspective and support system implementation for remaining US Retail Region and Joint Venture business unit
- Accounting for Retail Equity Investments
- Completion of Continuity Schedules
- Acquisition allocation and accounting
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a recognized institution
- 2+ years of relevant business experience is preferred
- Understanding of IFRS & US GAAP
- Growth mindset and ability to adapt to an advancing organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on intermediate Excel skills and experience with PowerBI
- SAP and/or Peoplesoft experience is desired
- Ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines and display a sense of urgency around month-end deadlines
- Ability to adapt to new processes and system solutions to best support accounting and finance teams across the organization
- Mature attitude and ability to work well in a team environment and exhibit strong business ethics
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
