OverviewThe Facility Technician is one of the primary contacts for all activities related to the SP3 nuclear lab. The role requires a high level of organization and attention to details such as the correct completion of support documentation and scheduling. Communication skills are the key to being successful in the role and involve both external service providers and internal clients.
Your role- Support the Facilities Group by scheduling planned daily work for the facilities group: re – crane, lift truck, elevator, etc.
- Support updating the Facilities schedule.
- Represent Facilities in the daily POD meeting.
- Assist to coordinate contractor activities when required.
- Support ordering replacement equipment for lab as required (Pcard).
- Manage the documentation requirements for the Facility Group and prepare it for loading into TRAK.
- Maintain the group's various files for tracking ongoing PM work and annual inspections of equipment.
- Assist with review and assigning facility tickets as they are generated.
Contracts – Monitor Status and Support Creation or Renewal:
- Crane inspection & maintenance.
- Fume hood inspections & maintenance.
- Lift truck inspection & maintenance.
- Fall Arrest equipment inspection & maintenance.
- All below the hook lifting equipment inspection & maintenance.
- Compressed air systems.
- Locksmithing services.
- Truck door maintenance and repair.
- Hazardous materials disposal.
Contracts – Short Term or Miscellaneous:
- As requirements arise such as painting, safety equipment, etc.
Safety:
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Work with OHS on safety activities as required.
- Order and install safety related materials.
- Support development of facility related JSA's.
About you
- Minimum 10 years relevant trade experience would be preferred.
- Diploma from a College of recognized standing or equivalent technical education/experience.
- Familiar operating forklifts, cranes etc
- Trade experience including mechanical/electrical technician, HVAC
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with external contractors
