Course description: This course focuses on how we can analyze numerical and categorical data to gain reliable insights into people and social processes. Topics include data tables, graphs, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and inference to a population.

Estimated TA support: 300 hours (subject to enrolment)

Class schedule (Lectures): Mondays 9 - 11am

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1 - December 31, 2026

Salary: Minimum stipend $9,997.48 for a Half course (inclusive of vacation pay)

Minimum qualification: Candidates must have a PhD in Sociology or equivalent as demonstrated by refereed/published research, strong academic record, previous experience teaching a similar course, and evidence of teaching excellence in the subject covered in the course.

Description of duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours; supervising TA's assigned to course; order all necessary readings.
