What you will do

Each day will challenge you to balance the business needs and the need for secure and reliable systems. You will drive value and change within software development by applying business understanding and architecture experience from planning to operations.
A slightly embellished potential "day in the life" is below. Although not every day will look the same, it includes some of the responsibilities for this role:
- Review email alerts and newsletters indicating if any new issues, threats, or incidents have arisen, which are checked against existing systems and services. There may also be some advice to give, feedback to send or documents to review.
- Once any urgent communications have been dealt with, you can turn to the task in hand – the security architecture itself. Depending on the scope and what stage this has reached, he or she will be pulling together materials and producing documents and plans relating to assessment, design, or deployment of security controls, or writing guidance for delivery teams.
- Provide consultancy and advice requested by the Assistant Director, Solution Architects, or SMEs on an ad-hoc basis.
- After a bite of lunch, it is time to meet with the project members to discuss the proposed solution for new Meeting Room Technology.
- Write up the notes for the meeting which could be interspersed with an email exchange with the procurement department who want to confirm some details about the third-party risk assessment for the new solution.
- Late afternoon, you will be presenting the new guidelines for deploying Intune profiles to Windows 11 systems and some new monitoring controls around it.
- Before leaving for the day, you check your email one last time. A new threat has been uncovered which could affect users of iOS devices. Fortunately, this time, following checks with the Solution Architect, it turns out that the team is working on a plan to update all iOS devices to the latest version which will mitigate this risk.
What you need to succeed
