Job Description
What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a top-notch Senior Software Developer in Test who is a passionate, driven team player committed to code quality and testing excellence. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our banking applications by designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, driving standards, compliance, and strategic automation for development tools and frameworks to enhance architecture and deliver measurable value. You'll blend technical proficiency with domain knowledge and innovative thinking to drive efficiency and accuracy in banking testing processes. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with business analysts and product owners to translate banking requirements into effective test strategies, staying updated with emerging AI technologies and testing tools to continuously enhance processes, and working closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues early in the development lifecycle, drive innovation through new methodologies and tools that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort, and leverage strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across the organization.
What will you do?
Ensure the quality and reliability of our banking applications by designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
Apply deep knowledge of banking operations, compliance requirements, and business workflows to design comprehensive and risk-aware test strategies.
Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable test automation solutions leveraging AI-driven tools and emerging technologies to enhance testing efficiency.
Develop automated test scripts for functional, regression testing scenarios specific to banking applications.
Define automation scope, oversee end-to-end delivery, and manage the automation framework infrastructure and code repositories.
Harness AI and machine learning capabilities to enhance test case generation, streamline execution, reduce manual effort, and implement intelligent test data generation with anomaly detection capabilities.
Champion end-to-end quality of banking applications by identifying risks, creating test plans, and executing test cases.
Perform test data requirement, analysis, test data creation and conditioning.
Monitor and report on test coverage, defect metrics, and overall application quality.
In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience as an SDET.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Vue, Angular, node and Oracle and SQL queries for test data mining, data generation & conditioning.
Extensive experience with test automation tools like Selenium and Playwright and BDD/TDD, Cucumber framework development.
Experience testing banking applications with a strong understanding of banking workflows, financial products, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins.
Hands on experience in API testing tools like Postman or SOAPUI; Experience of API development and integration of models through APIs.
Understanding of deep learning fundamentals, RAG and LLMs.
