The Manager, Business Lending is responsible for the suite of Business Banking credit products, ensuring they are competitively positioned, profitability is maximized and existing and future customers' needs are met. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product Strategy & Development, the incumbent will lead multiple credit initiatives to drive growth, optimize capabilities, and monitor performance to ensure we meet or exceed goals and objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Partner with the Senior Manager to formulate strategy and drive profitability – including P&L recommendations, pricing initiatives and expense reduction opportunities
  • Ensure the Business Banking Credit operating model is set up to sustain growth targets and support strategic priorities
  • Identify and champion improvements to client and employee experience and operational efficiency across the portfolio
  • Conduct client and product level portfolio analysis to identify costs reduction and/or on revenue opportunities
  • Support the development of key account management strategies to understand and optimize the client life cycle
  • Develop forecasting models and projections to ensure the portfolio is on track to meet and exceed targets and goals
  • Support in the development and design of new products and/or enhancements to the existing Business Banking product line
  • Manage application platforms that support all Business Banking products
  • Support all credit acquisition strategies, engagement tactics and channel management to sustain growth targets
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions - while ensuring adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate business degree; MBA preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in product-related roles
  • Strong analytical skills – you're comfortable building models and turning data into decisions
  • Creative approach to product differentiation and competitive positioning – ability to monitor wider market/consumer trends and tailor new products or enhancements accordingly
  • Results-driven with strong business and market acumen
  • Deep familiarity with banking systems and their relationship within the Bank
  • Expert proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint
