The position is based in Saguenay.


Please note that this position is intended to meet staffing needs beginning in Spring 2026.

The Geotechnical team includes more than 85 employees who, in recent years, have contributed to major projects such as the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), the Samuel‑De Champlain Bridge, and the development of Québec's battery industry.


Your role
  • Perform technical tasks (testing and inspection) in accordance with Work Instructions and directions received from the Project Manager or Coordinator;
  • Carry out geotechnical field investigation campaigns (an asset);
  • Perform sampling and description of soil, rock, and groundwater;
  • Conduct in‑situ geotechnical testing in soils and rock;
  • Ensure material compliance (aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and related materials) upon arrival at the construction site;
  • Perform quality control testing on site for granular materials (compaction verification, excavation base validation, etc.);
  • Report any deviations in material installation through non‑conformance memos and prepare a site report for each intervention performed;
  • Collaborate with the project technical team by ensuring follow‑up on site requirements;
  • Calibrate field equipment to ensure accuracy of measurements and results;
  • Apply all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) measures;
  • Prepare and complete a site report for each site visit;
  • Report technical issues to the Project Manager or Coordinator.

About you
  • College diploma (DEC) in environmental studies, or a degree in geology, mineral technology, or an equivalent field;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience;
  • Knowledge of soil identification;
  • Full proficiency in spoken French;
  • ASP Construction card;
  • Knowledge of field measurement equipment;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
