Your Opportunity In our Montréal, Laval, or Longueuil offices, you will act as a Mechanical Project Engineer for data center projects. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assignments, from defining requirements through to delivery, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and technical requirements. You will also play a central role in client relationships on critical projects.

Your Responsibilities Project Management- Define client needs and frame the scope of work

  • Prepare service proposals and establish fee budgets
  • Plan and coordinate resources (internal and external)
  • Develop and monitor schedules, budgets, and performance indicators
  • Identify and manage risks and critical issues
  • Track progress and ensure the quality of deliverables
  • Manage scope changes and additional fees
  • Maintain client communication and business relationships
  • Oversee billing and project profitability

Technical Responsibilities- Perform design, calculations, and sizing of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, automatic controls)

  • Select and specify equipment and technical solutions
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and critical project requirements
  • Coordinate design with other disciplines (structural, electrical, architectural)
  • Review and approve drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Provide technical guidance to teams (engineers and technicians)
  • Participate in technical studies, option analyses, and design decisions (reliability, redundancy, performance)
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and issue resolution

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in building mechanics
  • Experience with data center projects or critical infrastructure (major asset)
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Project management experience (costs, schedules, coordination)
  • Technical leadership and ability to mentor a team
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage priorities
  • ASP Construction certification
  • Fluency in French, with functional English
