Your Opportunity

From our offices in Montréal, Laval, or Longueuil, you will work as a Building Electrical Engineer on data center projects. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of major assignments in collaboration with our North American Mission Critical Facilities team. Each project will be carried out in a dynamic, collaborative environment that fosters continuous learning, while meeting established budgets and schedules.

Your Responsibilities

More specifically, by joining Stantec, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems for critical infrastructure projects (data centers)
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project-specific requirements
  • Coordinating design with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, architectural)
  • Developing low- and medium-voltage distribution systems
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with clients to request or provide technical information and project criteria
  • Performing technical modeling using specialized software (ETAP, CYME, E. Power) and analyzing results
  • Preparing technical specifications; signing and sealing drawings
  • Writing and approving technical reports
  • Conducting surveys of existing installations
  • Participating in project planning
  • Overseeing and implementing work in alignment with client requirements

Depending on your interests and skills, you may also:

  • Manage projects, including multidisciplinary coordination, and tracking budgets, schedules, and service quality with clients
  • Provide mentorship to junior colleagues
  • Contribute to improving design processes within the electrical department

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with data center projects or critical infrastructure (asset)
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage priorities
  • ASP Construction certification
  • Fluency in French, with functional English
