This is more than a geotechnical engineering role. It's an opportunity to build and grow a foundations practice.

Based in Regina or Saskatoon, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding WSP's geotechnical and foundation engineering presence across Saskatchewan. As a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you'll leverage your established industry relationships, reputation, and expertise to develop new client opportunities, strengthen our position in the Regina market, and help build a sustainable foundation engineering team for the future.

You'll lead complex foundation projects, provide strategic technical direction, mentor emerging professionals, and work closely with regional leadership to grow our business. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial engineering leader who is excited by the challenge of developing a market, winning work, and creating a lasting legacy.

Your Impact

• Lead complex geotechnical and foundation engineering projects across Saskatchewan for transportation, buildings, industrial, mining, energy, and municipal clients.
• Grow WSP's foundation engineering presence in Regina by developing strategic client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
• Establish and execute market growth strategies that expand WSP's footprint in the Saskatchewan foundations sector.
• Mentor and develop engineers and technical professionals while helping build long-term local capability and capacity.
• Provide senior technical leadership for shallow foundations, deep foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement systems, and geotechnical investigations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that create lasting value for clients and communities.
• Lead proposals, pursuits, and client engagement activities that contribute to sustainable business growth.
• Champion a culture of safety, quality, technical excellence, and continuous improvement across all project activities.

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline; a graduate degree specializing in Geotechnical Engineering is considered an asset.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and eligibility for registration with APEGS.
• 15+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience, including experience in foundation engineering and design.
• Demonstrated success developing client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and contributing to the growth of an engineering consulting practice.
• Established network and understanding of the Saskatchewan infrastructure, industrial, municipal, mining, or land development markets.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor professionals, and support the development of future leaders.
• Strong expertise in deep foundations, shallow foundations, settlement analysis, bearing capacity assessments, geotechnical investigations, and earth retention systems.
• Excellent communication, proposal development, business development, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with the ability to travel periodically throughout Saskatchewan and Western Canada.

Compensation:

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 – $195,400

MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $133,200 – $176,900
