The Opportunity

Help shape the future of transportation and building infrastructure across Canada. As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer, you'll contribute to challenging and innovative projects while developing your technical expertise and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your Impact

  • Contribute to the design of plans, calculations, preliminary estimates, and detailed engineering packages for transportation, commercial, institutional, and industrial building projects.

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power, and life safety generator systems.

  • Support project delivery through the preparation of technical calculations, specifications, contract documents, and detailed design submissions.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, senior engineers, designers, and 3D modelers to develop permit, tender, and construction deliverables.

  • Participate in contract administration activities including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and supporting construction-phase services.

  • Coordinate effectively with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, and other multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Maintain quality standards by supporting design reviews and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders while contributing to successful project outcomes.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with PEO or actively pursuing registration.

  • 5 to 8 years of experience designing electrical systems for transportation, commercial, institutional, or industrial projects.

  • Experience with power distribution, grounding, fire alarm, lightning protection, emergency power, life safety systems, and related electrical infrastructure.

  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards including OBC, OESC, CEC, CSA, NFPA, IEEE, and ASHRAE.

  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentation.

  • Familiarity with electrical engineering analysis software for arc flash, load flow, coordination, fault current, grounding, and lighting studies.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience supporting transportation clients such as Metrolinx, TTC, YRT, CN, CP, or GTAA.

  • Exposure to Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), AFP, P3, or Alliance project delivery methods.

  • Experience with control, communication, or security systems is considered an asset.

  • PMP designation or project coordination experience is considered an asset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $85,100 - $112,800
MB & ON: $77,700 - $107,000
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $76,900 - $102,100
