Job Description: The Primary Health Nurse Practitioner RN(NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common medical disorders and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

Experience- Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse and Emergency Room &/or UCC
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification.
Other Education and Training
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Certificate (BCLS)
- Registered/eligible for registration with CRNS as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
