Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Enterprise Risk Manager the role will play a critical part in ensuring there is general compliance with the organizations risk program and established compliance controls. The role will play a critical role in supporting the Enterprise Risk Manager in establishing a control environment that supports GCE compliance culture and aligning with all regulatory standards in Ontario.

Key Accountabilities:

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Assists in the facilitation of organizational risk assessments to identify and manage business risks across all departments, including gaming and corporate operations, with relevant management and team members
  • Contributes to improving GCE’s risk and compliance programs maturity through tool and resources development and enhancement of existing processes and systems
  • Utilizes the governance risk and compliance (GRC) platform to document and track risks, controls and risk assessment information
  • Provides support and resources to business stakeholders regarding compliance, risk management and control activities
  • Assists with compliance audits, development of remediation plans and management responses and facilitates follow-up assurance checks across functional areas of the Compliance department.

Data Analysis and Dashboards

  • Maintains dashboards and supports information sharing of relevant metrics, KPIs and trends across compliance teams and operation
  • Augments and enhances existing dashboard and reporting mechanisms to achieve continuous improvement.

Business Continuity:

Coordinates across corporate functions to initiate and validate completion of annual plan reviews
Assists with annual and ad-hoc business continuity plan testing and contributes to development of findings reports, enterprise wide

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Assist in the preparation and facilitation of risk and compliance training and the ongoing development of compliance awareness materials
  • Cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including team members and regulatory bodies
  • Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, leads and motivates by example, and provides a positive, professional and learning environment for all team members
  • Coordinates and assists internal partners with business initiative risk assessments, segregation of duties assessments, and other compliance/risk control processes

Educational and Functional Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in criminology, intelligence analysis, finance, business, data analytics or related discipline.

  • 2 years of experience or a suitable combination of education and professional experience in risk management, compliance, audit, business administration, performance monitoring, data analysis, gaming or a related field

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare analysis, respond to issues, provide recommendations, and prepare briefing materials in a manner that is appropriate for the intended audience

  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) at an advanced level preferred

  • Intermediate knowledge of Power BI, Looker, Tableau or equivalent data visualization and dashboard software

  • Intermediate knowledge of SharePoint and M365 integrated apps

  • Previous experience interfacing with GRC and records management platforms an asset

  • Experienced analytical skills with experience reengineering business processes

  • Ability to lead conversations, projects and assessments with participants representing various functional areas and levels, without authority

  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance processes is considered an asset

  • Knowledge of GCGC compliance processes and activities an asset

  • Working towards or completion of Certificate in Risk Management or equivalent certification an asset

  • Existing knowledge and experience in a gaming related sector an asset

  • Ability to obtain gaming registration in multiple jurisdictions – comprehensive background checks and disclosure of personal and financial information directly to gaming regulators required.

Minimum Salary (CAD $) 54,000

Midpoint Salary (CAD $) 71,500

Maximum Salary (CAD $) 89,000
