Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, the Social Worker - BSW - Senior is responsible for providing psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, clinical intervention, and counseling services to patients and families. This position actively participates in department education programs and is expected to adopt the interdisciplinary model that defines the department and participate in a manner that embraces this model. Education

• Baccalaureate of Social Work degree

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical social work

Knowledge & Abilities

• Ability to provide counseling and therapy to individuals, couples and groups
• Demonstrated experience and expertise in recognized social work methodologies
• knowledge of concepts/strategies used to develop/deliver educational programming
• Ability to carry out duties in a manner that meets clients’ safety needs
• Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
• Ability to establish working relationships with clients during times of distress
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Strong initiative and independent judgement to solve complex problems
• Ability to take large amount of complex information and convey it concisely
