Job Description: The Children’s Cardiology Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and performs specific procedures in the management and treatment of patients in the inpatient acute care, and outpatient environment. This position will provide advanced nursing support and continuity of care for patients with cardiac conditions. The Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based acute care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes: supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

Experience

  • Five (5) full-time years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP)

Licenses

  • Current CRNS registration as NNP required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Other Education and Training

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
