Job Summary

Bring your demonstrated leadership and consultation skills to this exciting opportunity as a Business Analyst, Fraser Health's Accounts Receivable and Payroll team. In this role, you will provide be responsible you will provide leadership and support by applying expert knowledge in business intelligence, data analysis, and performance reporting to provide evidence-based review of service utilization.

Build on your education and career experience as you:

  • Collaborate with business units and stakeholders for identifying reporting needs, analyzing current procedures, identifying opportunities, reducing redundancies and ensuring reporting processes support business objectives.
  • Work on and/or lead projects to improve dynamic reporting through report automation, and the adoption of emerging analytical methodologies, and BI tools and technologies.
  • Develop interactive business intelligence reports and participate in the design, development and testing of performance reporting solutions using PowerBI.
  • Conduct performance reporting benchmarking/best practices research and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and seek continuous improvement of performance reporting processes including developing performance reporting tools used to automate and coordinate report inputs, analyses and distribution.
  • Ensure data is effectively gathered, mined and leveraged to support effective decision making in support of corporate strategies and provide quality assurance and a value-added review of reporting inputs to promote high standards for quality and insight.
  • Prepare strategic business cases and supporting documents, briefing papers, strategic and tactical reports for an assigned area and/or portfolio for submission to Fraser Health Executive, Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the department, senior management, staff of various organizational units and other internal and external stakeholders in support of the mission, philosophies and goals of Fraser Health.

Are you passionate about joining our team? We will be looking for you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or related applied quantitative scientific field.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in decision support, business analysis, performance reporting, and/or health care management.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with T-SQL and PowerBI is preferred.

This full-time position is based at our Uptown Latitude Building , located in New Westminster, BC.

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
The Business Analyst provides leadership and support by applying expert knowledge in business intelligence, data analysis, data mining, and performance reporting to provide evidence-based review of service utilization, health interventions, technology assessments and performance analysis. The Business Analyst plans and develops reporting requirements by engaging with healthcare stakeholders across the organization, reviewing clinical, financial, human resource and operational data and by applying knowledge in performance measurement and benchmarking methodologies to develop BI analytical reports.


Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or related applied quantitative scientific field, plus five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in decision support, business analysis, performance reporting, and/or health care management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with T-SQL and PowerBI is preferred.
