The typical salary range for this position is $108 480.00 - $149 160.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Security & Resilience, the Director, Retail Crime leads loss prevention, fraud, investigations and asset protection across Metro’s retail operations. The role drives strategy execution based on risk, ensures compliance, and acts as a key partner to banners, operations and external stakeholders.
KEY / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the team responsible for loss prevention, investigations, fraud and physical security technologies
- Develop and execute loss prevention and asset protection strategies and programs
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal requirements
- Oversee investigations, complaints and security incidents and define action plans
- Monitor risks, threats and crime trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Define KPIs and track program performance
- Establish and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets related to security and protection programs
- Partner with retail operations across Quebec and Ontario
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, industry, law enforcement)
- Coach, develop and lead the team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual (French/English) required
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s an asset
- 10+ years of experience in security, loss prevention or fraud
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Strong expertise in loss prevention and security technologies
- Budget management experience (OPEX / CAPEX)
- Strong leadership, influence, communication and adaptability
- Strong Relationship building skills:
- Internal: Security & Resilience, Operations, IT, Finance, HR, Banner leadership
- External: Vendors, industry partners, law enforcement
