- Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick
- Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment
- Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs
- Manipulate sections of pipes or drill stems at rig floor during drilling and during removal and replacement of pipes, drill stems and drill bits
- Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials
- Clean up rig areas
- Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and service equipment Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Standard First Aid Certificate
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
- Rig Worker Fall Protection
- Confined Space Entry Training
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Field work location experience
