Overview
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Tasks
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Support for persons with disabilities
- Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities Support for newcomers and refugees
- Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) Support for youths
- Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
