Key Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Education Worker, you will:

• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
• Engage children through storytelling, teaching songs, and leading activities
• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs and maintaining records
• Encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
• Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
• Submit written observations on children’s progress to educators or supervisors
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and challenges
• Establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers
• Plan and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children
• Organize activities for school-age children in before and after school programs

Qualifications

• Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a related field

• Transportation: Own transportation is required
