Key Responsibilities

As an HVAC Mechanic, you will:

• Install and overhaul heating systems
• Install refrigeration systems
• Install ventilation, air handling, and air conditioning systems
• Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation
• Troubleshoot heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
• Coach and instruct apprentices
• Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices
• Perform maintenance such as recharging systems with refrigerant and checking regulators
• Interpret gas codes and handle refrigerants
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire HVAC systems

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Hours: 70 to 80 hours bi-weekly
• Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
• Experience: 5 years or more, or equivalent experience
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification

You will work with a variety of systems, including:

• Rooftop (self-contained)
• Heat pump
• Air motioning and circulation

• Built up (split system)
