Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Prepare statements of earnings for employees, detailing gross and net salaries along with deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments, and insurance and pension plans.
  • Store, update, and retrieve financial data efficiently.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems.
  • Assist with human resources-related tasks, such as personnel selection.
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.
  • Complete and submit documentation for the administration of benefits, including pension plans, leaves, share savings, and employment and medical insurance.
  • Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans.
  • Maintain payroll records accurately.
  • Track employee attendance, leave, and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements using manual or computerized systems.
  • Prepare T4 statements and other necessary documentation.

Requirements

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a related field.
