In this role, you will play a crucial part in coordinating the flow of information and supporting our legal team in providing exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the flow of information within the office.
  • Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other materials.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for clients and staff.
  • Train new staff members to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for legal documents.
  • Record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings, or conferences.
  • Establish office procedures and routines to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents.
  • Review and proofread documents to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical accuracy.
  • Organize and maintain procedures for record-keeping.
  • Draft legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.

Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a legal setting, preferably in immigration.

Computer and Technology Knowledge

  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Office, Electronic mail, MS Windows, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Work Setting

  • General law practice focused on immigration.
