About the Job
This is a permanent position offering between 30 to 40 hours of work per week. As a Bricklayer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include:
- Preparing and laying bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles, or other masonry units.
- Laying bricks, stone, or similar materials to provide veneer facing.
- Reading sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required.
- Working at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
- Cutting and trimming bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
- Instructing apprentices.
- Laying bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces.
- Laying radial bricks to build masonry shells of industrial chimneys.
- Lining or relining furnaces, kilns, boilers, and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks and other materials.
- Restoring, cleaning, or painting existing masonry structures.
Requirements
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
- Language: English.
