Key Responsibilities
As a Plumber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of plumbing systems. Your tasks will include:
- Reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
- Preparing tenders and quotations.
- Instructing apprentices and supervising a team of 3-4 workers.
- Locating and marking positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Cutting openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
- Joining pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
- Testing pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- Determining piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
- Estimating costs and materials.
- Operating CADD and other computer software systems.
- Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipes to the required shape and size.
Requirements
Education
- Other trades certificate or diploma.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
