About the Role

Friends for Life Early Learning Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our dedicated team. This temporary position offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, where you will play a vital role in the development and well-being of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess children's development to create tailored learning plans.
  • Assist co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and encourage creativity through art, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports.
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges.
  • Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.

Work Environment

  • Work in a child care center and before/after school programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: College/CEGEP.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role.
  • Certifications:
    • Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1)
    • Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3)
    • Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2)
    • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR
    • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
    • First Aid Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
  • Security: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, and Vulnerable sector check required.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and vehicle necessary.
