What You’ll Do

As a Fish Plant Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Cutting, cleaning, and trimming fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing.
• Transporting fish and shellfish to the work area.
• Checking products and packaging for defects to ensure they meet company standards, and performing corrective machine adjustments as needed.
• Disjointing and removing meat from lobsters or other crustaceans in preparation for canning or further processing.
• Recording production information accurately.
• Setting up and operating machines for canning, bagging, boxing, or packaging fish and seafood products.
• Operating machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products.
• Weighing fish or shellfish, recording weight, and packing fish in ice.
• Cleaning machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
• Measuring and dumping ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.

Work Environment
