Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers? THORPE BROTHERS LIMITED is seeking a dedicated Accounting Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Maintain financial records and establish, balance, and manage various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries and prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns and trial balances of books
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy

Requirements

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
  • Language: English

Work Setting

  • Located in an urban area
  • Relocation costs covered by the employer

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with QuickBooks, SAP (FI/CO/HR/MM/OT SD), Simply Accounting, and PeopleSoft
