About the Job

As a Truck Driver with AKAL FREIGHT SYSTEM INC., you will play a crucial role in transporting goods and materials across various regions. This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 40 to 50 hours per week. You will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks, ensuring the safety and security of cargo, and maintaining the condition of your vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.
