About the Job

As a Carpenter at Gill Construction Inc., you will play a vital role in our projects, working in various locations and contributing to the construction of high-quality structures. Your expertise will be essential in preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and executing tasks that meet building codes and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
• Schedule and coordinate work on sites
• Survey building locations and levels
• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers

Work Environment

Our work sites can be noisy and dusty, and you will be required to work in various locations. The role is physically demanding, involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads of up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
