Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Prepare statements of earnings for employees, detailing gross and net salaries along with deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments, and insurance and pension plans.
  • Store, update, and retrieve financial data efficiently.
  • Perform clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems.
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.
  • Prepare monthly statements and T4 statements.
  • Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans.
  • Evaluate work environments, programs, and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury.
  • Maintain payroll records and manage employee attendance, leave, and overtime calculations using manual or computerized systems.
  • Perform data entry tasks as required.

Work Environment

  • General office setting at our head office.
  • Work hours range from 30 to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and MS Word.
