Johnston's Towing / Island Towing is seeking a dedicated and professional Tow Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position offering 40 hours of work per week, where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tow Truck Driver, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Addressing customers' complaints or concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Driving lighter, special purpose trucks and operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Loading and unloading goods efficiently.
  • Performing emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on vehicles.
  • Receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.
  • Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Handling payments for goods and services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of driving experience or equivalent experience
  • Certificates:
    • Air Brakes Endorsement
    • Driver's License (Class 3 or D)
