Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of assurance and advisory engagements for a variety of clients
  • Participate in a supporting role on consulting engagements
  • Effectively respond to client and internal inquiries in a timely and professional manner; escalate issues as appropriate
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members regarding job status and potential issues
  • Provide bookkeeping support for both clients and internal teams
  • Review client information and prepare query lists for managers
  • Prepare and maintain accurate client files in a paperless environment
  • Perform basic analysis on client files as directed by management
  • Actively build technical knowledge and progress toward professional development goals

A successful candidate will have:
  • A diploma/certificate/degree from a post-secondary institute in business administration, accounting or finance
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in public practice or professional services environment
  • Working knowledge of Canadian accounting frameworks (PSAB, ASPE, IFRS exposure considered an asset)
  • Eligible or planning to pursue CPA designation (PEP or PREP)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, TaxPrep, Sage 300 (ACCPAC), Sage 50 (Simply Accounting), QuickBooks, and QuickBooks Online is an asset
  • Comfortable working with and adapting to new technologies and digital tools

Job type: Full-time
Your schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Where you’ll work: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Salary range: Will be communicated at a later stage in the hiring process.
