About Qu Data Centres Bold ideas need dependable infrastructure and people who can build and maintain it. At Qu, we run sovereign, in-country infrastructure, data centres, cloud, and managed services, so Canada’s builders and innovators can move fast without trading away control. Your work will help keep data close to home, accelerate teams, and scale growth for the builders and dreamers who rely on us.
Who we are looking forAre you an experienced data centre leader who combines hands‑on operational expertise with strong people leadership and a drive for continuous improvement? If so, this role offers the opportunity to own and evolve the day‑to‑day performance of a mission‑critical data centre environment while leading teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
As Manager, Data Centre Operations, you are accountable for the overall health, availability, and operational efficiency of the data centre, including critical infrastructure, customer deliverables, and service performance. You will lead and develop a high‑performing operations team, ensure rigorous operational discipline, and provide calm, decisive leadership during incidents and escalations. You will oversee monitoring, response, and communication related to building management and environmental systems, ensuring issues are identified, triaged, and resolved efficiently. In parallel, you will drive structured operational processes, audits, and preventative maintenance programs across power, cooling, monitoring, and facility systems to maintain 100% availability targets.
This role works closely with customers, internal teams, and partners—supporting customer onboarding, capacity planning, change management, and pre‑sales discussions—to ensure operational readiness and alignment with customer expectations. You will collaborate across engineering, sales, and product teams, providing operational insight and feedback to improve services, reliability, and scalability.

Facility & Infrastructure Management • Accountable for the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, CRAC/HVAC systems, power distribution, fire protection, and monitoring systems. • Lead troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical failures, coordinating internal teams and external vendors to mitigate risk and restore services. • Ensure preventive maintenance programs, asset documentation, drawings, and operating procedures are current and adhered to. • Work directly with contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to standard.
Compliance, Risk & Governance • Maintain and enforce controls required for SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI, ISO 27001, and other regulatory or contractual obligations. • Ensure operational processes align with ITIL best practices across service design, transition, operation, and continual service improvement. • Participate in audits, risk reviews, compliance meetings, and management reviews, ensuring timely remediation of findings.
Leadership & People Management • Provide clear leadership, direction, and accountability to data centre operations staff. • Build, develop, and retain a high performing team through coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning. • Ensure appropriate staffing models and on call coverage are in place to meet business and customer needs. • Foster a culture of ownership, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement • Actively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and customer experience through process optimization, automation, and standardization. • Drive data driven decision making through operational metrics, reporting, and trend analysis. • Lead the development, review, and enforcement of SOPs, operational policies, and workflows. • Partner with engineering, sales, and solutions teams to ensure operational readiness for new services and customer growth.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement • Serve as a key operational interface for customers, internal teams, suppliers, and partners. • Support customer expectation management by providing clear, accurate, and accountable operational communication. • Represent Data Centre Operations in internal forums, customer discussions, and cross functional initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience • Post secondary education in Data Centre Operations, Facilities Management, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in data centre, critical facilities, or multi system operations environments. • Demonstrated leadership experience, including people management and operational accountability. • Strong working knowledge of data centre infrastructure: UPS, generators, HVAC/CRAC, power distribution, monitoring, and environmental systems. • Solid understanding of ITIL disciplines, change management, incident/problem management, and service delivery best practices. • Experience operating in regulated or audit driven environments (SOC, ISO, PCI). • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, vendors, and executives. • PMP or formal project management experience considered an asset.
