Détails de l'emploi :
This is a hands-on product engineering role. You will write production-quality, object-oriented Python and make pragmatic choices across relational databases, document databases, and object or file storage. Familiarity with Azure or AWS is useful, but this is not primarily a cloud-infrastructure role. Our current ML focus is classical and statistical modeling rather than LLM or RAG infrastructure Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, extend, test, and document the object-oriented Python framework used for ML development, evaluation, packaging, deployment, and monitoring.
- Turn Data Scientist requirements and experimental code into stable, reusable product components and interfaces.
- Design data models, access patterns, and storage strategies across relational databases, document databases, and object or file storage.
- Improve programmatic data access, framework interfaces, metadata, versioning, reproducibility, and operational traceability.
- Support packaging, CI/CD, containerized workflows, monitoring, and recovery practices for data and ML workloads.
- Diagnose performance, reliability, scaling, and data-quality problems across the framework and its integrations.
- Contribute to technical decisions, review code from junior contributors, guide co-op students, and collaborate across Data Science, software, hardware, RF, and security.
- 3+ years of professional Python development, with a demonstrable record of shipping and maintaining object-oriented product code; 5+ years or equivalent depth is preferred.
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including modular design, APIs, automated testing, packaging, profiling, debugging, and code review.
- Hands-on experience designing and accessing production data systems using SQL, data models, schemas, and multiple database or storage approaches.
- Practical familiarity with Azure or AWS and cloud-based storage; deep cloud-platform specialization is not required.
- Practical experience with ML delivery workflows, CI/CD, containers, Git, versioning, and observability.
- A working understanding of the ML lifecycle and the ability to partner effectively with Data Scientists without needing to own model research.
- Ability to provide constructive code review and technical guidance to junior contributors and co-op students.
- Clear communication, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently while taking growing ownership of systems used by other engineers and scientists.
- S3 or S3-compatible object storage, Azure Blob Storage, Cosmos DB, or comparable systems.
- Sensor, time-series, spectral, RF, industrial, or other physical measurement data.
- Performance tuning, caching, concurrency, or reliable handling of large datasets and files.
- This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software, or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List, the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, the Canadian Industrial Security Program, the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and/or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access, including eligibility for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, and must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
- Work with cutting-edge technology at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and advanced electronics testing.
- Help protect critical supply chains and infrastructure.
- Join a high-growth company serving some of the world's most demanding industries.
- Collaborate with a talented and mission-driven team.
- Make a measurable impact on the company's growth trajectory.
- Palitronica is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
