Waterloo, ON
Détails de l'emploi :
- Own the development of physical and electrical models for Anvil's RF modules, interconnects and measurement paths, from individual building blocks through end-to-end system behaviour.
- Develop and validate RF network models using S-parameters, transmission-line theory and other appropriate modeling techniques.
- Develop methods for parameter extraction, model fitting and optimization using measured RF data.
- Correlate simulations with RF measurements, identify sources of discrepancy, and continuously improve model fidelity.
- Perform sensitivity, tolerance and trade-off analysis to identify the parameters that most strongly affect system performance and measurement repeatability.
- Model the impact of temperature, environmental conditions, interfaces and other physical effects where they materially affect RF behaviour.
- Develop characterization experiments and measurement strategies required to validate models and resolve technical uncertainty.
- Develop tools and automation for RF modeling, characterization, data analysis and optimization.
- Work closely with RF measurement, hardware, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop, validate, and refine system models, ensuring continuous correlation between model predictions and measured hardware performance.
- Establish reusable modeling methodologies, reference models and technical documentation that become part of Anvil's engineering foundation.
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Microwave Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant industry experience in RF/microwave modeling, characterization or measurement, with demonstrated principal-level technical depth.
- Deep understanding of S-parameters, scattering matrices, transmission lines, impedance, RF networks and passive RF structures.
- Strong experience with RF parameter extraction, model optimization and simulation-to-measurement correlation.
- Experience with RF/microwave simulation tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST, EMPro, AWR, SystemVue or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience using VNAs and interpreting high-quality RF measurement data.
- Experience developing circuit/analytical/numerical models of complex RF systems or interconnected RF building blocks.
- Proficiency with Python, MATLAB or similar tools for analysis, automation and model development.
- Strong experimental and analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to isolate unexplained physical behaviour and design experiments to resolve it.
- Experience with RF test and measurement equipment or instrumentation.
- Experience with RF fixtures, connectors, switching networks, probing systems or high-density interconnects.
- Experience with multi-physics, thermal or environmentally dependent RF modeling.
- Experience developing internal RF CAD/CAT, modeling or characterization tools.
