- Day-to-day operations coordination of plant activities alongside relationship building and maintenance with client site management, contractors and personnel.
- Supervision of a team of operating staff and visiting Junior Process Engineers, delivering process training and ongoing professional development support.
- Execution of onboarding plans to train site-based or assigned staff, leading by example and governing company policy, SOPs and processes adherence.
- Responsible for all aspects of daily water treatment plant operations and maintenance, actively identifying and pursuing potential operational improvement.
- Overseeing plant inventories, including materials, consumables and PPE, coordinating reorders with site owners or vendors.
- Analyzing and reporting water treatment plant performance data insights to site, operations and head office management.
- Provision of leadership regarding safety and environmental compliance.
- Supporting the technology development group by reconciling process application data, reagent consumption, and plant utilization.
- Other duties as assigned by Operations Management.
- A minimum of three years of previous technical, maintenance and industrial plant operations work experience is required
- Water treatment plant experience specifically, and/or water treatment certifications are an asset - flag those for us!
- Degree in a related field is an asset e.g., chemical engineering, hydrometallurgy, mining, mineral processing or mechanical engineering
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills
- Knowledgeable and competent using a range of standard computer software programs e.g., MS Office Suite
- Prior experience in updating and/or creating operations reports and technical documentation
- Proven comfort collaborating effectively with various stakeholders
- Confident promoting and achieving continuous safety and operations quality performance improvements
- While not mandatory, being fluent in English and French is an asset, as we have many sites nationally including QC
Physical Requirements
- Able to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasional need to climb stairs and ladders on shift, including vertically
- Require to lift and/or move up to 10lbs sometimes
- Must be 'fit for duty' and may be required to undertake pre-access testing
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision
