Dispatcher( Alarm Room Attendant) Term

The City of Thompson invites qualified applicants to submit a resume for a term position consideration: The successful candidate will have a minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent, and a minimum of one year office experience. This position requires experience operating a variety of office equipment, and knowledge of computers and computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. The Alarm Room Attendant (Dispatcher) will have sufficient knowledge of the Fire Department’s organization, personnel, functions, policies and regulations to provide information of a general nature. The candidate will have the ability to work independently and with a team, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work shift work. Previous experience in dispatch, with particular emphasis on receiving 911 or emergency calls, would be considered an asset.The duties for this position include receiving and transmitting all information relating to the activities of the department, and inputting information into the computer system.This is term (temporary) position with the starting rate of $32.47/hour.
