- Assist domestic CFIA (SFCR)-licensed and non-CFIA-licensed food processors, as well as international clients, with PCP, BRC, and SQF HACCP program implementation and maintenance.
- Analyze client operations and relevant markets or industries.
- Identify market opportunities, analyze trends, conduct feasibility studies, and contribute to business plans and sales strategies.
- Collaborate on various projects and provide regular updates and support to clients and team members.
- Participate in on-site client audits.
- Research and gather food safety information for food processing facilities and present findings in group settings.
- Formal training in GFSI (SQF or BRC) internal auditing and HACCP is required.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in the meat industry (slaughter, processing, retail) and other food production sectors.
- Strong understanding of the current regulatory environment, including Safe Food for Canadians regulations.
- Ability to create and review technical documents, such as project plans and test procedures.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or the ability to learn it.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Must have access to reliable transportation and be willing to travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in the food industry or a related field in a similar role.
- Interest in or understanding of all aspects of the food processing industry, including food safety, HACCP, regulations, and the supply chain from production to retail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in delivering presentations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying complexity while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in risk assessment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Dedication to personal and professional growth.
- Willingness to work in high-performance environments, interact professionally with clients, and travel, primarily within Ontario, as needed.
