EBT Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our Swift Current team.
We are a full-service accounting firm with offices in Medicine Hat, AB and Swift Current, SK. For over 50 years, we have provided comprehensive bookkeeping, accounting, taxation, and advisory services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Notice to Reader financial statements and corporate and personal tax returns
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Process payroll and complete WCB, GST, and T4 filings
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support year-end processes
  • Prepare and issue invoices, statements, and other financial documentation
  • Reconcile and verify transactions, including payables, receivables, payroll, and bank statements
  • Assist with budgeting and cost analysis using historical and projected data
  • Coordinate with contractors on client accounts, including setup, invoice tracking, and payment processing
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on outstanding payments while maintaining strong relationships
  • Support CPAs with file preparation, review bookkeeping work, and contribute to team deliverables
  • Maintain organized records and provide general administrative support
  • Participate in team meetings, mentorship, and ongoing professional development

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and highly reliable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Experience with Caseware, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, Taxprep, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes

Experience
  • Proven experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero)
  • Strong background in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance requirements
  • Experience in a public practice or professional services environment is considered an asset
