We are seeking a client-focused Surety Analyst to support the growth of our surety department. This role is ideal for someone interested in building expertise in a niche business where finance and insurance meet. Strong technical skills and a passion for delivering exceptional client service with a narrow but deep focus. The Surety Analyst will be instrumental in managing bonding facilities, supporting underwriting relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction across all touchpoints.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Service
  • Follow up with clients to gather financial and operational documents for new facility set up or renewals.
  • Gather quarterly financials and prepare benchmarking reports
  • Creating submission and renewal packages

Bond Facility Management
  • Tracking bond facility limits and usage for all clients
  • Gather annual financials and coordinate with clients to seek opportunities to have discussions with external accountants
  • Manage renewals to on a timely basis

Invoicing and Collection
  • Invoice annual fees in in January of each year and communicate with clients
  • Invoice bond fees as they come due
  • Monitor receivables and collection
  • Report on invoicing and receivables

Tracking and Reporting Client Activity and Sales Activity
  • Update Sales Activity Tracker on a weekly basis, using Salesforce system
  • Monitor and report on client touchpoint compliance
  • Update Client Activity Tracker on a daily basis
  • Monitor and report on outstanding tasks

Key Performance Indicator (KPI)
  • Update Sales Activity Tracker every week
  • Client Activity Tracker updated with 95% accuracy
  • Prepare benchmarking reports within 2 business days of receiving documents

TEAM ENGAGEMENT
  • Use company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook, policies, and procedures, etc.) to guide interactions with co-workers
  • Participate in the organization’s People Care Process including employee Check-Ins and Annual Values Reviews
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and other company functions

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in surety bond management preferably within a commercial insurance brokerage business
  • Willingness to secure Alberta Insurance Council Level 1 license within first 30 days
  • Strong understanding of bonding products, underwriting practices, and client service protocols
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, underwriters and priorities effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
