Working with the Shipping Supervisor and shipping team, you will be responsible in assisting with duties to ensure shipping instructions are adhered to and that orders are completed accurately. This includes organizing bagging supplies, tags, pallets and any other required supplies for the shift. You will be trained in the proper use of required equipment for this position which includes operating the autobagger, robotic shipping equipment, forklift and other related equipment. Currently, we operate Monday to Friday 24 hours per day with some additional shifts on Saturday. As the successful candidate, you must be able to work various shifts. This includes day, evening or midnight shifts. Additionally, there are opportunities for growth within the organization.
Position Overview
  • Inspect, clean, and prepare boxcars, hopper cars and containers for loading
  • Assist with bagging, tagging, sewing and loading procedures
  • Assist with the accurate count of each order, whether using the robotic palletizing system or using the splitter for live loading to storage containers
  • Operate the splitter and ensure the efficient stacking of bags.
  • Ensure that the visual quality of product is within established company standards.
  • Proper clean-up is to be done during and at the end of each shift.
  • Other duties may include: dumping trucks, moving of conveyors and equipment or assist the Plant Operators as needed

Job Skills
  • Previous experience in a labour or shipping department is preferred
  • An ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks including long periods of standing
  • Attention to detail and basic math skills
  • An ability to work in a dusty and noisy work environment
  • Effective communication skills, both interpersonal and in writing
  • Ability to work as a team and work independently, if required
  • Willingness to work with the automated shipping equipment. e.g. autobagger, robotic palletizing system, conveyors, splitter and other related systems
  • A valid driver's licence is preferred
