The CompanyBQE Water Inc. is experiencing an exciting period of growth and is seeking an enthusiastic team player to fill the newly created position of Business Development Coordinator (Engineering/Mining). Through technical innovation and engineering expertise, we help clients from the international mining industry to produce clean water and reduce their environmental footprint while potentially extracting mineral value from their wastewater. This enables them to meet stringent government regulations while operating in a socially acceptable way with a focus on water as a vital shared resource.
The RoleAs a Business Development Coordinator (Junior – Engineering/Mining), you’ll join our Growth Vertical team and report to the Marketing Specialist. This is an ideal entry-level to early-career opportunity for someone who is curious, analytical, and excited to build a career at the intersection of research, writing, and data-driven decision-making in the mining and engineering sectors. We’re looking for someone with strong foundational skills and a passion for learning. Deep industry experience isn’t essential. You’ll be supported and trained to develop expertise in market intelligence, technical writing, and proposal development. You enjoy working with information: digging into reports, spotting trends, and translating complex technical ideas into clear, compelling insights. You’re detail-oriented, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. An interest in “big data,” industry trends, and how information informs strategy will set you apart.
What You’ll DoYour time will be split across two key areas:
Market Research (50%)
- Conduct research into mining industry activity, projects, and trends using public data and industry resources
- Review and summarise technical reports (e.g., NI 43-101, scoping studies) into clear, digestible insights
- Gather and organise data from sources such as SEDAR, Mining.com, Northern Miner, and other databases
- Support the team in identifying new opportunities by analysing project pipelines and market signals
- Help build internal knowledge bases and tracking tools to monitor trends and opportunities
Proposals & Content Development (50%)
- Support the preparation of proposals (EOIs, RFQs, RFPs) and other early-stage project materials
- Coordinate inputs from technical teams and help organise content into clear, structured documents
- Write and edit sections of proposals, ensuring clarity, consistency, and strong storytelling
- Maintain and update content libraries, templates, and CRM records
- Administration of the company’s Hubspot CRM
- Assist with tracking deadlines, deliverables, and submission quality
- Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes and tools
What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest in research, writing, and working with data
- A degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Communications, or a related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
- 0–3 years of experience in a research, writing, coordination, or analyst-type role
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and confidently communicate complex ideas clearly and professionally in a business setting
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a technical environment
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); interest in data tools is a plus
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Exposure to mining, engineering, environmental, or technical industries
- Experience with proposal writing, academic research, or report writing
- Familiarity with CRM, databases, dashboards, or data visualisation tools
- Interest in sustainability, critical minerals, mine water treatment, or resource development
- Additional language skills are an asset, particularly for candidates who can comfortably communicate in professional settings (written and verbal) across multiple languages
Why This Role?
- Learn and grow in a supportive, collaborative environment
- Gain hands-on experience in market intelligence, technical writing, and business development
- Work with real-world industry data and develop valuable “big data” literacy
- Build a strong foundation for a career in strategy, consulting, marketing, or technical business development
