The Opportunity360 Concussion Care is seeking a passionate and self-motivated Occupational Therapist to join our growing team of concussion specialists. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading concussion researchers and healthcare professionals while supporting patients through their recovery journey.As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with a diverse patient population experiencing concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms. The Role
- Compensation: $Split Model
- Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental benefits after successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
- Work Type: Full-time, Onsite. Toronto,ON
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Start Date: ASAP – the position is currently open and ready to be filled.
- Training: Structured onboarding and concussion specific training provided
Responsibilities and duties:
Patient Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals experiencing concussion and post-concussion symptoms.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based concussion rehabilitation practices.
- Deliver interventions focused on symptom management, functional recovery, return-to-work planning, return-to-school support, and activities of daily living.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to support optimal recovery outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, physiotherapists, psychologists, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Contribute to a seamless and patient-centered care experience across the rehabilitation team.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, employers, schools, insurers, and referral sources as appropriate.
- Provide education and coaching to patients and families regarding concussion recovery, symptom management, pacing strategies, and return-to-activity planning.
- Empower patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation journey.
- Support long-term recovery through evidence-based self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation.
- Complete assessment reports, treatment notes, progress updates, and other required clinical records.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, clinic protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
- Participate in ongoing learning opportunities related to concussion assessment and rehabilitation.
- Contribute to clinical research initiatives and knowledge translation activities when appropriate.
- Stay current with emerging concussion research, best practices, and treatment approaches.
- Support the clinic's mission as a learning health system committed to advancing concussion care.
- Active Independent Practice registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) in good standing.
- Strong interest in concussion rehabilitation and neurological recovery.
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
- Previous experience working with concussion or acquired brain injury populations.
- Experience supporting return-to-work, return-to-school, or functional rehabilitation programs.
- Familiarity with concussion education resources and rehabilitation tools.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Interest in clinical research and knowledge translation initiatives.
