Cafe Supervisor

Forecast Coffee is hiring! We are looking for wonderful staff to join our team at our brand new café on Esplanade Ave in North Vancouver. Serving coffee with an extended food menu, we are looking for talented Baristas and skilled all-rounders to join the team.

About the role As Cafe Supervisor, you'll lead by example — delivering excellent customer service while representing our brand with pride. You'll help create a positive, inclusive environment for both customers and staff, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness in everything you do. Our core values guide how we work and communicate, keeping the customer and team experience at the heart of every decision.
Responsibilities

• Open and close the cafe following all open/close procedures and ensuring the cafe is secure at the end of the day
• Cash handling- ensure accurate till counts and change float.
• Managing the café/bar while on shift; providing leadership and guidance to the team of baristas when the cafe manager is not present.
• Using daily plan to ensure day to day operations run smoothly (Plan breaks/cleaning tasks/Record Waste)
• Preparing and serving coffee, food and drinks, clearing tables, washing dishes – getting dirty and leading by example
• Creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for staff and customers. Dealing with customer complaints in a polite, respectful manner, enhancing the customer experience
• Provide coaching to baristas to ensure high performance
• Adhering to Food Safe, Work Safe policies, and following BC Liquor laws
• Support barista training and upskilling as directed by the cafe manager
• Monitoring weekly task list and delegating to team to ensure everything on list gets done to appropriate level
• Maintain store organisation so product is stored safely and securely.
• Support Cafe Manager with event planning and execution
• Report maintenance issues to Cafe Manager and plan service as directed.
• Manage in store labour as required during shift in managers absence (Cutting labour when overstaffed)

The Ideal Candidate

• Has solid barista experience and loves great coffee
• Has previous café or hospitality supervisory experience, or is ready to step up into a leadership role
• Leads with a positive, calm, and approachable presence — not just tells, but shows
• Has some basic kitchen experience (food safe practices, food preparation, ability to follow recipes)
• Has flexible availability — we are open from 8am to 3pm.
• Enjoys providing friendly customer service and giving our locals and visitors a great experience
• Is a positive, hard worker who wants to build connections within our community and team

Requirements

• Serving It Right certificate required
• Food Safe Level 1 required

Compensation & Perks

• Starting wage $20/hr, plus tips paid out weekly

About this location This is a brand new Forecast Coffee location on Esplanade Ave in North Vancouver. We are thrilled to be bringing Forecast Coffee to the North Shore, with a planned opening early July. Training will begin approximately 2 weeks before opening, giving our new team the opportunity to get up to speed together before we welcome our first customers.
