ResponsibilitiesCamp Counsellors (Coaches) will be responsible for leading a skill group, which includes providing outstanding instruction while fostering a fun and encouraging environment. Successful candidate’s responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, the following: Pre-Camp (June)
- Attendance and participation in mandatory staff training that is currently expected to occur the weekend of June 20/21, although this date is subject to change.
- Leading a skill group:
- Ensuring all campers feel welcome and stay safe (well hydrated and protected from the sun)
- Prepare and execute lessons, drills and games from your skill group
- Complete weekly scouting reports for campers in your skill group
- Provide coaching instruction in a manner that takes individual differences in skill and learning styles into account
- Lead large group games and activities within your cohort - get involved with the campers!
- Follow camp-wide policies and procedures, (i.e., Hand sanitation, phones/tablets away during camp, regular headcounts, garbage pick-up, etc.)
- Participate in daily staff meetings
- Assist the Camp Directors in tracking and organizing camp equipment, supplies, t-shirts and prizes
- Some senior-level Coaches may be asked to supervise, mentor and evaluate a member of our Coach-in-Training Program
