SUMMARY OF POSITION The maintenance worker will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. The maintenance worker will also be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance activities, as well as trouble shooting and performing minor repairs on plumbing systems, dry walling, carpentry and notifying management of needed repairs. As well as general janitorial duties. RESPONSIBILITIES· Routine maintenance and/or general handyman work including painting, minor drywall repair, ceiling tile installation, ceramic tiles repair/installation, minor carpentry, lock replacement/repair, basic plumbing, basic electrical and other duties. · Coordination of repairs necessary upon unit change over as required, and in consultation with the Maintenance Coordinator· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of structures and ground on the properties. · Residential installation and assembly including blinds, screen doors, etc. · Help ensure a safe work environment is always maintained by committing to work safely. Promptly reports/takes corrective action to address actual or potentially hazardous situations. · Maintain good work habits and arrives at appointments punctually. · Maintain a positive working relationship with all tenants. Report tenant complaints promptly to the Maintenance Coordinator and/or Tenant Liaisons. · Janitorial duties, sanitization, moping, sweeping, dusting and other duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma/GED preferred. · 3-5 years of maintenance experience preferred. · 2-5 year experience with vulnerable populations · Must be able to read and understand product assembly instructions and must have good communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. · First Aid certification and working knowledge of WHMIS are considered assets. · Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license, relevant insurance and use of a reliable vehicle and clean driving record. · Must have basic tools. · Able to work independently · Use of Cell Phone App, Fiix· Able to successfully complete and provide a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
