Butcher/Meat Cutter

Job Description
We are a fast-growing, family-owned grocery store. We take pride in providing our customers with quality food products and top-notch service and we are looking for an energetic and determined individual to join our office team!
Dutchie's Fresh Food Market offers an assortment of fruits and vegetables, local dairy products, fresh baked breads and other homemade treats. We also operate a large full-service meat counter. We are passionate about good food and great service and as such this position requires an individual who also shares and displays this same passion!
Role & Responsibilities:

• Sharpen and adjust the cutting equipment
• Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery
• Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat
• Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat
• Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer’s orders
• Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
• Clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation standards
• Come up with new ideas for our food preparation program
• Keep up to date with food trends
• Prepare specialty products for customers
• Control department shrink through inventory, FIFO and quality control
• Shifts vary throughout the day between 5am - 11 pm.

Salary:

• $22.00 - $30.00 depending on experience

Job Types:

• Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Meat cutting 1 year (required)
