Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Treasury and Corporate Securities team as Senior Counsel, with a particular focus on securities regulatory matters, disclosure issues and engagement with securities regulators. The successful candidate will bring significant experience gained at a securities regulator, securities commission, self-regulatory organization, or comparable regulatory body, coupled with strong judgment and practical advisory skills. This role will serve as a trusted advisor on how securities regulators assess disclosure, conduct, governance, supervision, and compliance matters, and will help the Bank navigate complex regulatory interactions and expectations. The role will also assist with other duties and tasks of the Treasury and Corporate Securities team and contribute to projects and other Legal Department initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• A law degree from an accredited law school and qualified to practice law in Canada.
• 10+ years relevant securities law experience in a regulatory environment. Familiarity with U.S. securities law would be an asset (though not a requirement).
• Experience advising senior executives and other decision-makers.
• Experience providing advice to publicly listed clients on core reporting documents (MD&A, Proxy Circular, Annual Information Form, etc.).
